SpaceX's Starship set for fourth flight attempt Thursday

Suborbital test flight expected to be part of fourth integrated flight of Starship

SpaceX has analyzed data from March test flight and implemented corrective measures to Flight 4

SpaceX is scheduled to launch its Starship megarocket Thursday on a suborbital test flight, marking the fourth attempt to get the gargantuan rocket to space and back. The launch is expected to take place from SpaceX's Starbase facility in Boca Chica, Texas, at 5:45 a.m. CST.

The test flight will be the first for Starship's Ship 29, which is expected to be part of the fourth integrated flight of Starship. The integrated flight will be the first to use Starship's Super Heavy booster, which is the largest rocket booster ever built.

SpaceX has already analyzed the data from the March test flight and implemented numerous corrective measures to Flight 4s, NASA indicated. Those measures include changes to the rocket's engines, fuel system, and heat shield.

If the test flight is successful, it will be a major milestone for SpaceX. The company is hoping to use Starship to launch humans to the Moon and Mars in the coming years.
